Jami Valentine Miller earned a bachelor's degree in physics from Florida A & M
University and a master's degree in physics from Brown University. In 2006 Miller
became the first African American woman to earn a PhD in physics from the Johns
Hopkins University, where she studied the spin properties of rare earth metals for
applications in magneto-electronic devices.

memorable, and learn about common mistakes you'll want to avoid in your essays.

an outline of a personal statement to use in future applications.
