1. A scholarly lift
Exercise science professor Avery Faigenbaum was
featured in a November issue of The Athletic for his
expertise in youth sports performance. Faigenbaum's
research shows that well-designed resistance
training is safe for young athletes.
2. Gags rule
TCNJ's nursing simulation lab was the scene of a
prank on the reality show Impractical Jokers. In a
September episode, the show's stars acted as medical
and nursing students and gave ridiculous diagnoses
to unknowing people who were just there to pose as
patients. "It's a moment our program will remember
with a smile," says simulation coordinator Chelsea
Lebo of the lighthearted spotlight TCNJ nursing
received.
3. A worthy name
Trenton-based organizations Greater Mt. Zion AME
Church and Salvation and Social Justice will name a
soon-to-be-constructed maternal health and birthing
center after New Jersey assemblywoman Verlina
Reynolds-Jackson '94. Reynolds-Jackson has long
been a champion of health equity.
