Doreen Mayrell '07 invented an artificial intelligence-powered flipped classroom model for college algebra that has improved student performance and engagement. She also designs curriculum for AI-driven learning apps used in schools implementing the two-hour learning model, where academics are delivered through adaptive personalized instruction. Mayrell is a sought-after speaker for AI at education conferences, including the OpenAI Education Forum in San Francisco and the AI and the Future of Education Conference in Yokohama, Japan. Mike Steele '07 published a middle- school historical fiction novel, Not Lucille, about a 10-year-old girl in 1931 Trenton, New Jersey. '10s Andrew Apicello '13 and Jack Ferrie '13 reconnected to start Sentauri, an AI business to help expand biologics technologies. Christina Garcia '14 and Erik Felipe '14 both work in the North Bergen School District. Christina teaches elementary school students and Erik is a high school social studies teacher.
