Extreme Makeover Armstrong Hall is getting a facelift in the third and final phase of TCNJ's STEM Complex project. The building's updated interior will showcase glass walls, collaborative research and teaching spaces, and open study areas for students — the kinds of improvements that have led to steady increases in student participation in intensive faculty-mentored research, says School of Engineering Dean Steven Schreiner. FACULTY ACHIEVEMENTS Vedrana Krstic, associate professor of civil engineering, received the 2019 Educator of the Year award from the Central Jersey Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Karen Yan is working to manufacture artificial skin. The biomedical and mechanical engineering professor will spend a year in China perfecting a new method based on 3D printing that will allow researchers to better mimic the environment of native tissues.
