UP F R O N T How did you better the world in college? Because of the long-standing tradition of students being agents of social change, we asked alumni to share what causes brought out their true convictions. Black pride "Heightened discussions of race were happening on our nation's campuses in 2015, particularly at the University of Missouri, where student-led protests against discrimination forced the resignation of the school's president. I wanted black students to know they mattered, so I organized a TCNJ Blackout where students, faculty, and staff wore black to stand in solidarity with Mizzou students and speak out against institutionalized racism. I felt proud to see my campus support students they had never met. President Gitenstein praised us for sustaining dialogue around these issues." — DAVID M. BROWN '16, FORMER PRESIDENT, BLACK STUDENT UNION
