It's a way to honor the veterans who have made huge impressions on the industry. 1. The nominations always bring euphoria. The Recording Academy votes for their peers so there's a lot of stock in the Grammys. TCNJ X10 3. Keep an eye on Lorde. She's an electropop artist up against two big rap names — Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar. If they split their votes, she could sneak in as a dark horse for Album of the Year. 4. Kendrick Lamar's "HUMBLE" was the defining rap song this year. It's an artistic and commercial force, and I think Grammy voters will recognize that for Record of the Year. 5. Jay-Z got the most nominations. It's tough 'cause he is up against Kendrick Lamar for a lot of them. He took the spot of Ed Sheeran — pretty shocking. 9. It was a quiet year for country music, with no major nominations. Goes to show how much hip-hop and R&B dominated the culture this year.
