15 Looking AHEAD OUR EXCEPTIONAL students, staff, faculty, and alumni embody what is unique and special about a TCNJ education. During the 2011–2012 academic year, the campus community advanced an updated three-year institutional strategic plan outlining five broad planning strategies to guide the provision of educational excellence on an affordable and sustainable basis. The Board of Trustees approved the updated institutional strategic plan at its July 10, 2012, meeting. Underlying the goals is the crosscutting strategy to continue to build a culture of accountability focused on outcomes and metrics. Implementation of four main tracks of work in phase 1 of the strategic plan is a major effort of the current academic year. With the upcoming installment of a new provost, TCNJ will continue to excel as a learner- centered institution, aiming to advance our students' experiences in all dimensions. In response to the implementation of the strategic plan, TCNJ will update its facilities master plan with the goal of providing the best ways for new facilities to meet the College's ever-evolving programmatic needs. TCNJ maintains a diverse and cultured student body and will continue to do so with the incoming Class of 2016, which boasts academic leaders, accomplished athletes, and an inspiring commitment to service locally, nationally, and internationally. From our newest students to our oldest alumni, from our driven staff to our innovative faculty, adding up the parts that make up TCNJ's community results in an extraordinary whole.
