When an ACTIVE SHOOTER is in your vicinity:
EVACUATE (RUN)
1 Have an escape route and plan in mind
2 Leave your belongings behind
3 Keep your hands visible
HIDE OUT (HIDE)
1 Hide in an area outside of shooter's view
2 Block entry to your hiding place and lock door
3 Silence your cell phone or mobile device
TAKE ACTION (FIGHT)
1 As a last resort and ONLY when your life is in imminent danger
2 A empt to incapacitate the shooter
3 Act with physical aggression and throw items at the ac ve
shooter
CALL 911 WHEN IT IS SAFE TO DO SO
When Law Enforcement Officials arrive:
1 Remain calm and follow instruc ons
2 Put down any items in your hands
3 Raise your hands and spread your fingers
4 Keep hands visible at all mes
5 Avoid quick movements towards officers; do not run at them
or hold on to them for safety
6 Avoid poin ng, screaming, or yelling
7 Do not stop to ask officers for help or for direc ons when
evacua ng
