11. Power Outages/Infrastructure Failures
Power Outages/Infrastructure Failures
CAMPUS POLICE: 609-771-2345 < or > dial 9-1-1 from any Campus Phone
<> Main Power Outages on Campus
1 Remain calm and provide assistance to others if needed
2 Move cau ously to nearest exits; the emergency exit signs
should remain illuminated
3 Follow instruc ons from emergency response personnel
4 If evacua on is required – assist those with special needs or
contact Campus Police
5 Lab Personnel should a empt to secure all experiments,
unplug electrical equipment and turn off gas sources
6 If possible, shut off electrical devices to avoid a surge when
power is restored
7 If applicable, secure lab animals and follow established
protocols
<> Infrastructure Failures (Plumbing, HVAC, Water Supply)
1 Administra on will communicate the level of failure
2 Remain alert for Emergency Response updates to the nature
and severity of failures
3 Do not allow students to leave classroom un l Campus Police
gives "all clear" message
