This includes a person who dies within one year of injuries sustained as a result of the fire. On-Campus Student Housing Facility: Any student housing facility that is owned or controlled by the institution, or is located on property that is owned or controlled by the institution, and is within the reasonably contiguous geographic area that makes up the campus. For purpose of fire reporting, this includes buildings that are owned by the Trenton State College Corporation, which has an agreement with the College to provide student housing. Fire Safety system: Any mechanism or system related to the detection of a fire, the warning resulting from a fire, or the control of a fire. Cause of Fire: The factor or factors that give rise to a fire. The causal factor may be, but is not limited to, the result of an intentional or unintentional action, mechanical failure, or act of nature. Unintentional Fire: A fire that does not involve an intentional human act to ignite or spread fire into an area where the fire should not be. Intentional Fire: A fire that is ignited, or that results from a deliberate action, in circumstances where the person knows there should not be a fire. 17 Undetermined Fire: A fire in which the cause cannot be determined. 17 Value of Property Damage: The estimated value of the loss of the structure and contents, in terms of the cost of replacement in like kind and quantity. This estimate should include contents damaged by fire, and related damages caused by smoke, water, and overhaul; however, it does not include indirect loss, such as business interruption. For purposes of fire reporting, any claims made against the College for personal property damage are done directly through the state of New Jersey via New Jersey Tort Claims, so the College is not made aware of personal property damage values.
