In the late '70s, a friend who went to
another local college acquired this
street sign, and it hung in her basement
for many years. Last year, when she
told me she was going to get rid of it,
I quickly took it off her hands. It now
hangs proudly in my basement along
with many other Trenton State items,
including a gym bag with a broken
zipper and a pennant.

My husband, Joseph Knight '11, and I
visited TCNJ with our children, Brody,
Brielle, and Brooke, and we stopped by

TCNJ's Phi Alpha Delta, founded in 1925 at what was then called New Jersey
State Normal School in Trenton, marked its 100th anniversary with more than
200 alumni who spanned seven decades and came from across the country to
celebrate. "The fraternity has grown beyond its engineering roots and remains
strong in brotherhood and philanthropy," says Mike Lavelle '06.
