'60s and '70s
Former Star-Ledger editor Barbara
Kukla '62 writes books about Newark,
New Jersey's history, including three that
focus on the city's jazz scene.
Stanley '64 and Dianne Fain '65
Zweback celebrated their 60th anniver-
sary on December 24, 2024. The couple
remains friends with Judy Weiner
Lefsky '65 and Jim Fenton '65, who
introduced them when they were all
undergrads at Trenton State College.
Lissa Brown '65 published her sixth
novel, Tarnished Streets of Gold, about a
Russian-Jewish family's journey to
America to escape antisemitism in the
early 20th century.
Robert Kecskes '77 retired after 37 years
with the New Jersey Department of
Environmental Protection. He served 25
years as chief of the water supply planning
section. "Couldn't have done it without
having great professors at TCNJ," he says.
