"I like art that is accessible to everybody," she says. She plans to create murals in her next venture: "I'm going to go to Borikén (Puerto Rico) to reconnect with my roots and practice my art." A winner of TCNJ's Distinguished Clinical Intern Award, which recognizes outstanding student teachers, Lazar will take her Trenton Central High School classroom experience to her students in her full-time teaching position. Ask Polania what dark matter is, and he's quick to kid: "If I knew, I wouldn't be here," he says, referring to his interest in this mysteri- ous substance that affects how stars move around and shape the cosmos. As a budding scientist, it's his goal to figure it out.
