13 Prairie SPRING 2025 3. Headlines start here Two TCNJ professors recently lent their expertise to CBS news shows. Civil engineering professor Andrew Bechtel helped explain the causes of the I-80 sinkhole on CBS News New York, and James Stacey Taylor talked philosophy and artificial intelli- gence on CBS Mornings Plus. 4. Proud as punch Nicholas Erickson '14, a research analyst at Southwest Research Institute in Boulder, Colorado, helped test and integrate the optical systems for a sun- observing satellite that studies solar wind. The satellite, called PUNCH, launched in March aboard a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. 5. The big dance Jessica Imhof '12 made it to the Sweet Sixteen in the women's NCAA basketball tournament as an assistant coach and director of scouting for the University of Maryland Terrapins. Imhof is a former TCNJ player and coach. 6. Snack attack When hunger strikes, students can now head to the basement of Travers Hall to nosh on grub from the new Just Baked machine, available 24/7. It's like a vending kiosk, delivering hot food quickly. We hear the burritos are just right at 2 a.m. 7. Picture this Belinda Haikes, professor of design and creative technology, won a 2025 Individual Artist Fellowship from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. She received $13K to further her artistic goals. 8. Domingo takes the stage Saturday Night Live's Marcello Hernandez, known for his character Domingo, performed to a sellout crowd in Kendall Hall for the College Union Board's spring comedy show. TCNJ's many steam pipes and the food in Eickhoff were fair game for jokes, as were the chaos of air travel and some personal stories about being Latino. 9.
