KATHRYN RATHKE Remembrance Neil Gaston Professor of business emeritus I had the privilege of being a student in Neil Gaston's consumer education class at Trenton State College. I'm 67 now, and while it is unlikely that he would have remembered me after all these years, I certainly remember him. Back then, I was a slow-maturing kid who needed a good academic role model; for me, that was Professor Gaston. He was a smart, witty, and very engaging man who had his students in focus. I always looked forward to his class and his discussions. I loved how he frequently found a way to sneak a funny story or joke into his lectures. He convinced many of us to subscribe to Consumer Reports, and I've been a loyal subscriber now for 46 years. I may have been a tiny blip on Professor Gaston's radar, but I truly mourn the passing of this brilliant man who helped me align my life. — Mark Eckhardt '79
