A family in love with TCNJ When my daughter graduated in May 2024, she became the sixth TCNJ graduate in our family. We have all forged our own ways since our own graduations, but for all of us, the TCNJ experience was so positive. My parents, Dean '69 and Ingrid '70 Hawk, met at TCNJ. It was the best love story I knew. Because of their story, when I enrolled at TCNJ (I knew I wanted to go since my first visit when I was in 5th grade), I did have it in my head that I wanted to meet my husband. The students around me were really great, so it seemed like an ideal goal. I saw my now-husband, Ryan Modri MAT '98, in the Student Center for the first time and the moment I saw him, I knew I was going to marry him. When he saw me, he said to his friend, "Who is that? That's the type of girl you marry." Twenty-two months later we were married. We had brought our children to the campus every couple of years since they were toddlers. So when it was time for my daughter, Annakela Modri '24, to apply she knew that TCNJ felt like home and was a very comfortable place for her. Now we hope our son will go too.
