1. The moth-er of all finds
Bio major Sarah Knapik '24 crawled with excitement
over an insect collection assignment. In September,
she found a colorful moth along Lake Ceva and
became the first person in New Jersey (and only the
second in the U.S.) to find the Lepidotarphius
perornatella species.
2. Music to our ears
TCNJ's Wind Ensemble and Choirs won The
American Prize, which recognizes the best in
performing arts, for their performance of Weather.
"This is a huge honor for our program, TCNJ as a
whole, the state of New Jersey, and the wind band
genre," says Eric Laprade, director of bands.
3. Called up
Nursing major and lifelong Mets fan Samantha
Tumbarello '27 won a $2,500 scholarship from
Audacy WCBS 880's Mets Radio Network. Kristina
Schoenbeck '10, senior director of sales at Audacy,
presented the award.
