4 The College of New Jersey Magazine LAST ISSUE SAVE THE DATE Everyone was excited to see our wedding photo in TCNJ Magazine (winter 2023). However, they also pointed out that the date was listed incorrectly. THOMAS AND KATELYN MLADENETZ Editor's note: "We do" make mistakes. We're sorry this time it was in reporting details of your special day. Consider it our way of allowing you to relive the memories as we print it again here. Katelyn Coluccio '15, MAT '16 wed Thomas Mladenetz '13 on July 22, 2022. Thanks to all the alumni who helped identify the players in the photo. JOE PLACHINSKI '01 Nearly all the plastic trays ended up broken, and the students were all scraped up by the end. The dorms and showers were a disaster with all of the muddy students coming back in. BOB MILLER '03 A lot of people wore their Welcome Week T-shirts to play in the mud because who cared if they got ruined? LEIGH WRIGHT RITCHEY '03 There was so much water flowing toward the Towers, it looked like a river. CLEOPATRA JONES '03 IT'S IN THE DETAILS A SLIPPERY SLOPE Some unfortunate weather welcomed students to campus in 1999. But our Lions made the best of it. They came out in droves to tell us what was going on in a photo from our archives (Looking Back, winter 2023). Thanks, alumni, for helping us to identify the people and event pictured to the left. I was one of the victorious muddy students featured. Hurricane Floyd hit during Welcome Week, and the administration decided to not cancel early classes. When we were let out, we walked back to our dorms in water above our knees. Since many of us were already wet, we kept playing in the rain. Dry friends snuck into the Travers and Wolfe cafeteria to grab trays, and we spent the day sliding on them down any decent-size hill on campus. As a freshman, it was one of my first experiences at TCNJ, and it remained one of the best. Thank you for the memory. APRIL AMBIO '03
