Paying it forward to honor family
"Aunt Hazel valued education," says Florence Ann Roberts, niece of Hazel Danley Bokey '33.
"She was the first in a family of eight siblings to go to college, and that really lifted the whole family."
Bokey went on to pay for Roberts' mother to attend college, too.
Roberts and her husband, Robert Dreyfus, combined an outright gift with a charitable gift annuity
to create a scholarship in Bokey's name. "We honor my aunt and get a little boost in income,
all while helping today's students," she says.
