47 Class Notes FALL 2022 Roosevelt Butler Professor of management emeritus When I got to TCNJ in 1987, Rudy Butler was an old-timer. He was a gentleman and a gentle person. You would never, ever hear him curse, and I don't think I ever saw him become angry. He was a military fellow, so his back was always straight; the way he dressed was very formal, especially compared to other professors. He was strict with students, also in a military sense. He expected students to be in class on time, and when he gave an instruction, such as "have the papers on this date," they had to be there. There was no extension. He was the first tenured Black professor in the School of Business, and he was certainly a role model for many African American students for what he had achieved professionally and for the honorable way he conducted himself in class and with students. He was an excellent colleague who was respected by all. — Joao Neves, chair, School of Business, management department In Memoriam '50s David Buchanan '53 Carolyn Feist '53 Lois Corson '56, MEd '85 '60s Marilyn Simon '61 Fred Hazlett '62 Jeanie Hazlett '62 Carol O'Brian '62 Patricia Stabile '64 Theresa Fliegauf '65 James McKee MEd '68 Rose Gleich '69 '70s Barry Leilich '72 Jo Ann Donnelly '73 Linda Murgittroyd '73 Michele Miller MA '74 Wilma Morrissey '75 Timothy Broderick '76 John Soos '76 Kenneth Baker '77 '80s Michael Barrett '81 James Puhalski '81 William McClelland '82 Nadine Kuster '89 '90s William Keene MA '90 Dorothy Darrah MA '93 '00s Lisa Cipriano-Rogalski '03, MEd '12 Jennifer McGovern '05 '20s Alexander Luzzi '20 Staff Jeanne Cortina, former secretary to the president Salomea Houghton, former nurse of TCNJ's health center tcnj.edu/brick For questions, please contact Christine Buber '12, '15, at buber2@tcnj.edu or 609.771.2765.
