4 The College of New Jersey Magazine MORE HEROES AMONG US We asked you to share stories of the people who helped you through the pandemic ("Essentially ours," Winter 2021). These are the ones you couldn't do without. Lindsay Barndt in the Office of Student Transitions is a one-woman powerhouse. She is an example of calm and flexibility during a turbulent time. I remember during a "Spend a Day at TCNJ" event, which Lindsay was responsible for, seeing parents taking pictures with her as though she was a celebrity. That goes to show the positive impact she had on the incoming class and the way she made families feel valued and welcomed. MADDIE ANTHES, associate director, Center for Student Success Meghan Sooy Sellet has made my experience at TCNJ 1,000 times more enjoyable. She has been there for me and countless others every step of the way. JAKE KOSS '23 Anthony Russo '23 has just been a really good friend throughout the pandemic. JIMMY ALAGNA '23 The entire Eickhoff staff makes me feel so welcomed and appreciated. I see them working hard to provide us with healthy meals day after day. AURENI ESPINAL '23 The contact tracing team has done a good job at empathizing with cases while providing resources and support to the students. CONOR COLLINS '21 When I was exposed to COVID-19, I talked to contact tracer Joshua Payyappilly '21 and he did a great job explaining the protocols and easing my worries. I could tell he cared. MOLLY MUHA '21 Professor Tracy Kress was accommodating and understanding of everyone's situation during these times. I truly felt cared for in her class and appreciated everything she did for me. TANIYA SOOD '23 Professor Chelsea Lebo is the reason I have succeeded in virtual nursing. She is always available to meet over Zoom and troubleshoot topics that are difficult to understand. She also created a virtual mentorship program, connect- ing nurses from the Class of 2020 with senior nursing students. TCNJ is fortu- nate to have her. SYDNEY DOYLE '21 Kevin Potucek, the advisor for WTSR, fixed anything that broke in the radio station and worked out numerous meth- ods to allow the DJs to do their shows remotely. He worked so hard and put in so many extra hours to make sure we were able to broadcast. BESS JONES '22
