2 The College of New Jersey Magazine TALK UP ADVOCATE ALUM Your cover story ("Border trilogy," Spring 2019) about an undocumented student who has since courageously become an immigrant rights advocate inspired me to reach out. I am part of a growing movement that calls on elected officials to reunify migrant families, release them from detention, and afford them due process in immigration hearings. I spoke about this at a Trenton City Council meeting. I also recall Rachel Adler, a brilliant sociology professor at TCNJ, and her work advocating for immigrants at the southern border. JIMMY DABROWSKI '04 I ALSO RECALL RACHEL ADLER, A BRILLIANT SOCIOLOGY PROFESSOR AT TCNJ … DAD TO THE RESCUE I find it distressing that you attributed the formation of the TCNJ chapter of Habitat for Humanity to a recent graduate ("Class of 2020 Flashback," Spring 2020) because Kimberly Megnin '02 and Jessica Rauch '03 had actually started it during their time on campus. The chapter may have floundered after those two graduated, but Jessica is my daughter so I'm aware of when the group originally organized. PHIL KUBIAK '74 Editor's note: You're right, Phil. We should have better phrased the story to reflect that Kerstin Baran '20 restarted the defunct club in 2015. Thank you for bringing your daughter's accomplishment to the forefront! SLAM DUNKS The last issue was a real joy to read. The quality of the articles and photography was outstanding. The article on Greg Grant ("The Jersey Devil," Spring 2020) was excellent. I saw him play. He was a real talent. Keep up the good work. JAY JOHNSTON '78 Thank you for the exceptional quality and content of TCNJ Magazine. Well written and a variety of interesting articles and pictures made for easy reading from cover to cover. Go Lions! JEANNE MAHONEY '74 Kudos to TCNJ for the Winter 2020 issue. The magazine always brings back memories from my time in the nursing program. I remember the top-notch faculty and the competent staff that make TCNJ a great institution. SUSAN YOUTZ '76 The Winter 2020 issue is the best that I've seen. CONSTANTINE CHESTON MA '64 GOOD EYE In the article "The Commish" (Spring 2020), it states that Lamont Repollet's counselor at Carteret High School encouraged him to enroll at The College of New Jersey. Repollet was a member of the Class of 1994. The school was then Trenton State College, not TCNJ. This is a minor detail, but as a proud alumna with a BA in journalism/professional writing, it is my understanding that the institution should be referred to by its name at the time. MELISSA PLATT '00 Editor's note: Melissa, thanks for reading so closely. Because the college has had several names throughout its history, our editorial style is to use TCNJ in most formal references.
